Cats and vacuum cleaners?

Why cats hate vacuum cleaners so much? We have three kids aloud in our home, dishwasher, washing machine, bike, etc. and the cat do not worry. Start the vacuum and that's another story. She bolt and hide under my doona. Why cats hate so much and no one has had or known a cat that does not care about vacuum cleaners?

We've only had a cat who liked lol vacuum was one of those cylinders and being a kitty to sit on it and walk around the floor like we used to it.We had in a circuit breaker safety, as he liked both.
